PRAYER REQUEST TUESDAY


Hello friends. How can we pray for each other today?


In a world that's so fast paced and uncertain, sometimes we feel like we're going it alone. Tuesday is a day set aside for you. I want to remember you in my prayers. I don't claim to have any special powers, or any special favor with our heavenly Father. Just a love for the Lord and you, my friends.

If you have a prayer request please leave a comment. You don't have to give any information you don't want to. And if you'd rather just leave a comment stating "unspoken", that's fine.

I want you to know that you will be prayed for, not only by me, but anyone who desires to touch heaven for you on this day too. If you'd like to pray, then please, pray for the person's comment above yours. And, if you do say a prayer for the name above yours, why not drop by their blog and let them know.  It's a blessing to know we're not in this alone and someone else is thinking of you.

No-Go Blissdom weekend

      

This weekend is one of the two blogging events I've wanted to attend ever since last year.   Blissdom is held in Nashville, TN.  I said (last year) that I was definitely going in 2011.  Guess what?  Blissdom coincides with my wonderful husband's birthday.  So it was a "no brainer".  I would definitely not be going to Blissdom this year.  (sigh).  There is a blog hop going on, though, for those not in attendance this year and it's called No Go Blissdom sponsored by Mom with A Minivan and the  Blizzard Blog Hop  sponsored by Household 6 Diva!   I am participating because... well, I hate being left out.  Three questions were suggested... simple enough.  I can't wait to see the other's posts and mingle, network and just have some of our own "girl time" with those not there.   So let's get started, ok?

1. When did you start blogging and Why?
Good question.  I "opened" my blog in 2009, but it just sat there for months, because I didn't have a clue what to do with it.  Why did I start blogging?  Hmmm... well, to broaden my scope of friends.   Virtual as they may be, they're still friends.


2. What is one thing you are going to do this week that is WAY cooler than going to Blissdom?
I mentioned it's my wonderful husband's birthday.  Need I say more?

3. Share a post that you think says a lot about you or is your favorite. (share the link in YOUR post so we all can see)
Ok, that one's easy.  Last year, the day before my birthday, I was the featured blogger on SITS (Secret is in the Sauce) and I'm going to link to that post, DO check it out , it's called:  I'm the Featured Blogger at SITS ( catchy title, right?)

Cars, Lane Changes...and Grace

 Today, while driving home from my second trip to the store because they forgot to put some of my purchases in my bag, a man in the car next to me, found out his lane was ending and decided that he had the right of way to my lane. I remember thinking “Dude. Do you even see me here???” (Yes, at my age I sometimes still say “Dude”)


I gave a friendly toot of the horn. Just a tap, mind you. He then proceeds to yell at me from his rolled-down window. So I’m all like what?!? Are YOU yelling at ME? And he’s all like, “can’t you see I’m trying to get over in your lane? Move!” Ok, I don’t know if that’s actually what he said, because I didn’t roll my window down, I’m just going with that story. And, I didn’t actually say that to him either because my southern mama raised me better. But I was miffed at him all the same. So I did what any good southern girl would do. I stared him down. I felt vindicated.

If he would have just waved an “I’m sorry”, or even “thank you for letting me cut you off and get in front of you” I would have totally forgiven him and waved him in with a smile. But he didn’t and that just ruffled my feathers.

I get home and tweeted about it. I know. That’s sad. I wanted someone to know, but more so I wanted them to say “you’re so right”.

But then (yeah, the dreaded “then”!) I was reminded of Romans 5:8

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

I didn’t have to care first. Christ died for me before I was even aware I needed Him. Before I was even sorry for my sins. It’s called “grace”. I then determined that if Christ would extend such grace to me, I could at least extend grace in such a trivial incident as that.

So, after asking forgiveness for my “ugly attitude” (another southern sayin’) I rejoiced over what Christ did for me!

PS I sure hope that guy doesn’t remember my car!

Last night I logged on to facebook and she had posted her latest project.   I immediately fell in love with it!  I told her I was going to brag about her here on Wednesday  (because I loved it so!) and suggested ( actually I believe, I just out-and-out urgently ordered her to do it!)  LOL.  

Being the good friend she is, she did as I said (evil, sinister laugh here ...I have powers you can't imagine - yeah right!).   I am happy and proud to say, she has started getting orders pouring in for them too.  So, she is selling 'em.  Yes, that's right!  You too can have one.    I'm not sure what the shipping costs would be, but be sure to go to her blog, Applesauce Is The New Black, check it out, and leave her a comment if you're interested in owning your own!

Here’s to New Starts!



Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

I love New Years Day! Not because of the football games… the parties… the feasting. Not even because of the White Sales (although I do love a good sale!)

I don’t typically make resolutions. When asked, I usually just give the same answer “My New Year’s resolution is to not make any”. Mostly because I’ve learned that by about the third month (if I make it that far) I’ve long since forgotten those grand intentions. Some resolutions are hard and you just can’t do it. You try. But you’re human and, well, not perfect.

Although I don’t usually make resolutions I still think of New Years as our own personal “re do” opportunity. My “clean slate”, if you will.

Whether we make New Year’s resolutions or not, I think in a way, we see it as another chance to “get it right”. Cancel out the mistakes of the previous year and begin again.

Because God loves us so much, He makes every day a New Year! We get to start over each day. His mercies are new every morning. I’m so grateful that the maker of the universe knows my frailness…and my heart… and extends such loving compassion to me. How about you?
