Amish Style Roast and French Dip Sandwiches

Tonight we had french dip sandwiches, because this weekend we had Amish Style Roast!  I always love it when we have left-over roast because it makes such great "dipping" sauce for sandwiches!
I don't know if it is truly "Amish" or not, but as teenager, my family would always stop at this "Amish"  restaurant (ok, they had electricity so they were Mennonite) and their roast tasted like this.

The roast couldn't be easier!  Throw into a crock pot the roast, a can of french onion soup, a can of beef consumme', and a can of beef broth.    I cook it all day, until it's falling apart.    I shred what's not already shredded.  Serve over mashed potatoes or whatever.   Keep the "juice" separate for the next meal.

That's one meal.

Later in the week, I break out the hoagie rolls for French Dip sandwiches!

I like to slices of Swiss cheese on the bread and toast 'em
I know, they look like hot dog buns, don't they?  Honest, they're not!

I found this stuff at the grocery store.  It's for sprinkling over olive oil and dipping bread into, but I have used it on everything except that! It's so good.  I even sprinkled it in the stew I made last night, so I figured, would could it hurt to sprinkle it on top of the melted cheese, right?   YUM!

and then...

this caught my eye.    And yes, it was delicious on the sandwich!

So, there you have it, two meals in one.  Gotta love that, right?
